La Leche League of Kansas
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to breastfeeding families. All those interested in breastfeeding their baby are welcome to attend the discussion groups or to call a Leader for breastfeeding help. LLL Leaders offer up-to-date, practical breastfeeding information through monthly meetings or telephone, e-mail, or Facebook help. La Leche League of Kansas also provides health care professionals with continuing education opportunities and access to the latest research on lactation management.
Mother-to-Mother Support
LLL groups throughout Kansas offer free breastfeeding assistance through mother-to-mother support. Some groups offer in-person and virtual meetings, e-mail and phone help, as well as events like playgroups or classes.
Continuing Education
La Leche League of Kansas frequently hosts continuing education classes for credit for breastfeeding professionals.
Virtual Support
Many local LLL groups provide support through phone, e-mail, text, and Facebook. La Leche League of Kansas also hosts a virtual meeting once a month through our Facebook page that is open to anyone with questions about mothering through breastfeeding.
Up-to-Date Breastfeeding Information
La Leche League Leaders are accredited through LLL International. This process equips Leaders with current, evidence-based information on breastfeeding, as well as skills in interpersonal communications and group dynamics.
